Would You Rather Book Tag

Thanks to Precious @ Clockwork Desires for tagging me! If you haven’t checked out her blog you should. Her posts are really interesting! This tag seems really fun so let the “would you rather” questions begin!

Would you rather only read trilogies or only read standalones?

Well, it depends really. When I like a book I wish it never ends and I want it to just go on and on. But sometimes I feel like it just gets a teeny tiny bit draggy in the last few books. Of course that doesn’t apply to all books, some actually gets better with each book. Standalones are great too. They’re short and sweet and manage to get the message across with just one book. Again, that doesn’t apply to all of them. Some standalones seem too short and the characters don’t get a chance to develop or just when the story gets interesting it ends. So to answer the question, I’d rather read trilogies. There, now are you happy?

Would you rather only read male or female authors?

I don’t think the gender of an author actually affects me, at least not directly. You could be male, female, an alien or Smurf for all I care. If you write a good story, I’ll read it. I must admit there’s a certain “thrill” to reading a book by an alien, especially if said alien is Daemon Black. A girl can dream…

Would you rather shop at Barnes and Noble or Amazon?

Never bought anything from Barnes and Noble, so Amazon it is. This must be the least challenging question here.

Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?

Again, it depends. If the books in question have a lot of substance, material and events, then TV shows are the way to go. Take The Mortal Instruments as an example, the movie could hardly contain everything that went on in City of Bones. I am so excited that it is on the way to becoming a TV show! I seriously hope the series stays true to the books. Movies are great for books with less events going on. If they were to make a book like The Fault in Our Stars into a TV show, they’d have to add a lot of extras and I don’t think it would be as interesting. Well if you really need an answer I’ll have to go with TV shows.

Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

What kind of question is that? 5 books per week for sure. With a clear mind and no distractions 5 books per week is definitely doable.

Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?

A professional author! I love reading and reviewing other authors’ books, but it would be amazing to be able to share my creations with other readers. I love writing and I’m currently working on a couple of stories but I’m too chicken to share it with you guys.

Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?

Honestly, both of them are fine with me. Okay, more than fine. The point is it would be a great pleasure to be any of them. There’s just one problem… As a librarian I’m sure to see people borrowing books in perfectly good condition and returning them in the exact opposite. Now, that breaks my heart. And I’d probably get fired ’cause there’s a high chance I just may give the offender a piece of my mind and also a lecture on how to handle books. And I may not be too nice about it either. So that’s why I prefer being a bookseller. They buy the books, they take them home, they don’t have return it, so I wouldn’t have to see the condition the book is in. I also get to recommend books to other readers and watch them fangirl and join in! Who wouldn’t want that? We all live happily ever after. Not the end, I have two questions left. 😉

Would you rather read only your favorite genre, or every other genre but your favorite?
Umm… I don’t really have a ‘favorite’, I read everything but erotica. I mean everything from books to cereal boxes to candy wrappers. I am a reader and I would read anything and everything!

Would you rather only read ebooks or physical books?
Let me not think… Physical books!! Ebooks are convenient and all but physical books are something else altogether! With physical books, I can hug, smell and hold them like they’re my babies. ‘Cause they are.

And now I tag:

To all you tagged people, feel free to give this a skip if you’ve done it before or if you’re not interested! If not, I look forward to reading your answers! Hugs! ❤

An author!? Do you write short stories or full sized novels? And are they done or in progress? Do you think you’ll ever try to get them published? I always love supporting blogger authors and I’d love to see what you’ve written!

Yes, it’s been a dream of mine for the longest time! I’m currently working on a few stories, I’m hoping that in time they’ll blossom into full sized novels. They are very much in progress and I’ll definitely try publishing them once I’m done (which will be like in a few years), it won’t be easy doing it from Malaysia but I love a good challenge and am determined to achieve my dreams (all of them) one way or another! I hope to post some short parts of it soon. Likewise, it would be a pleasure to read your work! So, if you ever need a beta reader or a reviewer when you’re done, you know where to find me! 😀

If you found a lot of good blog followers, the fact that you’re from Malaysia could actually work to your advantage. There is always a cry for diverse books in the blogging community, and yours could be just that! I feel the same way about the “years” comment though- Mine’s probably going to take just as long.

Okay, well that’s weird… I didn’t know about this until now? I have to agree with most of your answers, especially the one about 5 books or 5 pages a week (that is a funny question, haha). Thanks so much for the tag, Tasha! 😀
